Reader, there must really be a drought with playable game demos on Steam because last night I was looking through the store again and still could not find any games that actually worked. Is it so hard to ask when you upload your game to Steam, to make it playable? Jesus, I was about to give up until I saw this week’s game. Furcifer’s Fungeon is a weird take on the Vampire Survivors and I think this week I will talk about it.
Furcifer’s Fungeon is an action roguelike from Playwithfurcifer and will be published by IndieArk.
I don’t know man, You are on some sort of gameshow involving a cat devil who narrates how you will never get out of this side-scrolling dungeon game.

Furcifer’s Fungeon is a nice take on Vampire Survivors with more of a player role than just timed shots with heavy player movement. Furcifer’s Fungeon forces the player to choose one of three starting characters, use the mouse to hit the shot to kill the bad guys, and collect their coins to level up. When the player levels up you get all the confetti and praise that you played the game and have a choice of three individual talents and a specific attribute to raise, either it health, magic damage, luck, etc. Unique talents may be a timed lighting bolt that deals extra damage, a hammer that flies around the screen, or even additional damage to specific elemental damage (fire, ice, electric). The combat is fun because there is a primary fire and a super sweet unique ability that stops you dead in your tracks to charge up and get hit almost every time.
You continue on your adventure by walking right until you hit a mini-boss or even, the end of demo boss, which literally destroyed my entire existence.

Pixel art game and the sprites are actually really good-looking. Sometimes the projectiles can get lost in the beautiful-looking backgrounds, but that really is not a bad thing (a majority of the time).
There is an absolute banger that plays when the game is open. It really fuels the want to play the game.
Furcifer’s Fungeon is a fun take on the Vampire Survivors formula with a playable duck character that wields a wand and can dodge accordingly. The game is fun, but man, am I over this genre. I played through all three classes and found that they are all the same, they just look different. The talents are fun, but feel uninspired. Overall, it was the best game that I could have found last minute on the Steam Store.
