It is the end of another here and I have played a lot of games according to my Steam-in-Review. Today I am going to announce my top six favorite games of 2023.

For clarification, It is top six because I wanted to mention the sixth game and I feel like I wouldn’t be doing the five-justice if I did not include the sixth.
Number 6: Hi-Fi Rush

Hi-fi Rush’s music is banging and the combat followed suit. It was an exciting journey with memorable mechanics and music.
Number 5: Dead Space Remake

Dead Space was one of my favorite games during the PS3/360 generation. It made a comeback with updated visuals, a story that connects everything, and minor fixes to combat and guns? It deserves a spot on this list.
Number 4: Spider-Man 2

Spider-Man 2 is just plain fun. It is just more of the same, but that same was near perfect before. Miles is the better Spider-Man and this game deserves this #4 spot.
Number 3: Venba

Venba has definitely earned the #3 spot. A novel story about a family who immigrated to Canada for a better life. Venba explores much more than any of these AAA games; with a concise explanation of Tamil culture through food and family life. Coupled with the damn good cooking mini-games, Venba is in the top 5.
Number 2: Resident Evil 4 Remake

RE4 was damn good when I was a kid and the remake is somehow even better. How do you make a near-perfect game even better? Who knows but RE4R takes the #2 slot because it is a damn fine video game.
Number 1: Alan Wake 2

Alan Wake 2 was the only game this year that, when I was playing it, was saying “damn, this is a good video game” every day. The psychological horror is present, the humor is there, Sam Lake is there and the combat is still really, really really good. Alan Wake 2 is my Game of The Year and I refuse to accept any other video game for this spot.
