New Year, old Itch.io horror games. This week I took every single precaution to not get spooked while ignoring a pot of boiling water. This week is Don’t Boil Noodles at Night.

Don’t Boil Noodles at Night (DBNAN) is a horror game from Arydk. The game was released during the prime time spooky hour; October 2023 and is free to download. Ko-Fi is here.

It is the witching hour and you are hungry but you have no noodles. It is time to go to the store and pick some up. Hopefully, nothing happens on the walk to and from the store.

The game is easy to understand: Make noodles. Not much real gameplay to mention, more like a walking spooky simulator. There are some good spooks littered throughout the game, though. It had gotten me a few times.

I want to say that DBNAN looks like a PS1 game. Flat faces with really flat structures. Blurry images paint the rooms, etc.

DBNAN is short but it has some spooky stuff in it. I think the game only lasted for about twenty minutes but it does have some fun/spooky stuff in it. Apparently, three different endings involve boiling noodles and almost dying.

If you have a solid twenty minutes to spare, I’m positive that DBNAN is worth your time.
