We are back with me talking about probably one of my favorite games. This last week Realm of the Mad God received a Realm Rework Beta. DECA has been talking about breathing new life into this old-ass game and I was skeptical. After playing all week I have a few things to share about the future of this great video game.

PROS:
- The game has maintained its unique appearance.
- The new sprites for old enemies and new ones alike are sharp, beautiful, and terrifying depending on where you are.
- There are new world bosses coupled with the old ones. A few old bosses have got a gameplay upgrade (new attacks and techniques to learn) while new bosses offer an adequate challenge for new and old players.
- Beacons are introduced as the new way to close realms. There is some godforsaken number of beacons in various biomes on the map, destroy them and it closes the realm now.
- It is much easier and faster to close realms now, which I like. Rather than having to wait for work bosses to spawn, some of which take a lifetime to kill, the beacons are always present and can be knocked out at any time.
- The biggest thing That I wanted to note was that DECA kept the onboarding. You enter the beach and fight low-level enemies and it pushes you toward the direction of higher-level enemies at all times. Though, it looks like it isn’t necessarily the center of the map, the idea is still the same and I love that.
- New world boss item drops. I never got them but the concept of newer items is always good.

CONS:
- There might be toooooo many enemies in a small area in each biome.
- It is really easy to be blindsided by a higher-level enemy now, which makes for a feel-bad death.
- The new world bosses are pretty tough and far more challenging than any of the old-world bosses. I don’t remember its name but one world boss is just firing so much shit at the player at all times which really kind of needs a healer of some time to overcome.
In the end, the RotMG Realm Rework Beta has attracted a bunch of players back to the game and the general feeling is that “the game is back.” The world map has been updated with new enemies, a countless number of different biomes, and double digits of new world exotic drops.
It’s literally everything we’ve wanted for years now.
Praise DECA
