I remember buying an Xbox 360 to play Gears of War 2 with my friends. I walked into a Best Buy and just bought it outright, along with Gears of War 2 and Dead Rising. I recall, at the time, how perplexed reviewers were by the number of zombies that Capcom’s game could render simultaneously, pushing the Xbox 360 to its limits. The game reviewed really well in 2006 because of that limit pushing, and now it is back with updated graphics and stuff.
LET ME TALK ABOUT DEAD RISING DELUXE REMASTER

Pros:
- Dead Rising has that glow up. It is a sharp-looking game. The visible gore is grosser than it has ever been.
- The cutscenes really amplify how terrifying the psychopaths really are.
- I still like dressing Frank up in ridiculous costumes and watch the cutscenes unfold.
- The gameplay has remained fairly unchanged, which I think I like. The arcade-like feel to how frank, npc’s and zombies attack.
- hacking up, running over and totally obliterating zombies is still so fun. So much time was lost enjoying the visceral fun.
- I still like the design of the psychopaths.
- I like the improvement to the shooting, though I wish I would not just stop fully when I shoot my gun.
- The narrative is paper-thin and comedically dumb. It does just enough to make me invested.
- I liked the 72-hour mode, but I really want to play the survival mode that I loved playing back in 2008.
- Herding survivors is easier than ever, which is huge because it was borderline the worst thing about the game before.
- The game is just super fun.

Cons:
- The intermittent stopping when shooting is annoying. Just let me shoot while walking!
- Frank is devoid of any empathy. I can’t tell if it is just the voice acting or if that is how he was supposed to be written.
Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is a fun video game, but there is no shot that I would have felt the same if I spent $50 on it. 16 years later, I bought the game again on sale for half off, and I felt that was a suitable price for the game. The game needed an update, no doubt, and some of the updates, like the movement, the shooting, and herding the survivors, make the game infinitely better to play.
Dead Rising Deluxe is a great game and I had a lot of fun playing through the story again. Hearing Frank say “I’ve covered wars,” and fighting the stupid, goofy psychos made me smile from ear to ear. Super fun game.
