A lot has been going on, and I had just enough time to take two weeks and play Another Crab’s Treasure. I’ve been meaning to play it because I’ve been listening to the soundtrack, and this absolute banger has been on repeat lately.
Let me give a quick rundown of my feelings about Another Crab’s Treasure.

PROS:
- I love the story.
- Class conflict with a mix of humor makes for an engaging and very fun narrative.
- I like the characters a lot.
- The incredibly isolated hermit crab, who has been so far removed from the real world, goes on an adventure to selfishly save the only thing that matters to him.
- Neema, the mother trying to run a hole in the wall while having kids, is necessary to ground Krill and his pursuit of his selfish objective.
- The business crab, Thirth, that sees everything as an opportunity, the moon snail, the super cool smithing crab, and the honor-bound Chitain fill the respective roles perfectly.
- The gameplay is simple, and I really like it.
- Attacking and casting are tied to single buttons
- There are strong attacks and light attacks. It may seem like it gets boring, but it never does.
- Enemies hit really hard, so pattern recognition is key.
- I do not Parry, I JUST DODGE.
- Trinkets allow the player to play however they want.
- Health and Attack are all I needed to win the video game.
- The Umami powers really change up the game.
- Attacking and casting are tied to single buttons
- The bosses are some of my favorites in a souls-like game.
- Lots of enemy types that kept me engaged with the game.
- The game looks great.
- All of the biomes are vastly different from each other, and I love that they are essentially ocean-themed versions of Souls-like areas.
- I really like the design of everything in this game. From the towns where people live in whiskey bottles to the clothing that the inhabitants wear.
- I really like the description on the container of the butter container.
- The save system works really well, making sure that dying is not really a huge punishment.

CONS:
- Honest to God? Nothing really.
I am really glad that I played Another Crab’s Treasure because it found it incredibly fun. I like to play Souls-likes casually, and Another Crab’s Treasure allows me to do just that. Four attributes are easier to navigate, and I just wanted to be able to hit, dodge, and not die when I got hit a single time. The story is fun, sad, and all too real, the gameplay is tight and rewarding, the ocean takes on Dark Souls is humorous, and the soundtrack is great.
Another Crab’s Treasure was made with love, and it shows. It is a fantastic video game.
