You know, I went out of my way to apply for a media badge for PAX West, because I thought that there would be “no way they would give me a pass.” I jokingly filled out the form and submitted it.
I WAS WRONG. I GOT THE MEDIA BADGE
SO NOW I HAVE TO GO
I’ll be there from Friday morning onward!

These are the things that I am learning about traveling in the United States:
- Domestic flights are not cheap: I am paid $800 to fly two people from the East Coast. A long time ago, you used to get flights to California for like $100/person. I see now that flying sucks.
- Uber and the like are incredibly more expensive than I thought.
- Hotels now have 4PM check-in times and early-as-hell check-out times.
I am really excited to go to the convention and visit Seattle. I don’t really know other places to visit, and I am trying to figure that out now. My wife and I may just buy the City Pass and go see the aquarium and the Space Needle.
Other than that, I am ready to go to my first PAX and report back all the sweet stuff that I saw, played, and experienced over the extended weekend.
